The event this year was set in a huge marquee in the beautiful grounds of the Royal Automobile Club.
Guests were greeted with champagne and the Ascot Brass Band followed by a superb lunch. The setting featured a spectacular 40 foot ice bar with a stunning horse sculpture created from ice with beautiful red roses embedded into it.
The focal point in the massive marquee was a very dramatic and life-size horse which really added to the wow factor.
There was a magnificent fresh seafood display topped with a large sculpted ice clam-shell filled to the brim with langoustines and surrounded at the base with copious lobsters, complemented by a truly spectacular and delicious sushi bar.
The champagne flowed continuously and the food was just incredible. The starters – the sushi -the fish main courses – the curries – the barbecued items – the fantastic desserts – the cheeses and then believe it or not the afternoon cream tea to follow.
We were treated to a fantastic fruit display, freshly baked scones, sandwiches and much more…
It seemed simply never ending and it really was such a shame that we just couldn’t keep eating and eating until we had tried just everything. It was all so delicious but there is only so much you can eat in one day!
To sum the day up it was a wonderful and memorable!!!
